Automatic Plant Irrigation system (THIRAN ver.2K14/Phase-II)         In present days agriculture farmers are facing major problem in watering their crops.  This automatic irrigation system senses the moisture content of the soil and automatically switches the pump when the power is on. MAIN COMPONENTS :          1.7404 HEX INVERTER (operating voltage range is 4.4v to 5.5v),          2. Two 555 TIMER          3. Electronic valve.          4. Probes. Normally Micro solderimg iron works on 12 V supply .We can make it with simple dry cell batteries available in the market.It is best suited for emergency soldering .(Say your project deadline is tomorrow !! And you are devoid of the conventional soldering equipments ) It is useful for crisis management! Apparatus required:  1.A wooden piece 2.4 cell Battery holder 3.SPST Switch 4.Connecting wires 5.Micro soldering iron (low Watt) 6.Battery 1.5 V -4 Procedure : 1.Connect positive terminals of the battery to one of  the switch terminal. 2.Negative terminal of the battery is connected to the terminal of soldering iron . 3.From switch connect the remaining terminal to the soldering iron. 4.The entire set up is supported on  a wooden block (to provide saftety to the user ) Source : Internet Illustration : Dinesh Singh (III year EEE)

Ryla fever : During the trekking (Selva ryla 2015) The Rotract club of Sivakasi s uccessfully conducted Selva ryla(National level)  at  Kodaikanal from sep 17 to 20 . Students from  Delhi,Assam,Bangalore and Tamilnadu made their active participation in this ryla. 10 students from our college represented  our state.  They had sessions like Life lesson,Brain o brain and  social awareness . In addition to that they had   camp fire , trekking and fire walk.  Based on the student's  active performance “  Darling award  ” was  awarded at the dawn of each day. It is  always good to operate an electrical appliance with a remote control .It will be very useful to old aged people to have all the controls in a single remote (wouldn't it?) And it would cut the costs required for switch boards at least.
