INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES AND WORKSHOPS CONFERENCE: First time in Accet history, the Department of Mechanical Engineering organised an International Conference on Smart Design & Sustainable Manufacturing (ICSD &SM'16) on September 26 & 27, 2016. The day started with a knowledge chest from the Chief guest, Dr. Somashekar. S. Hiremath , IIT Madras followed by Presidential address given by our Principal Dr. S. Rajakumar and keynote address given by Dr. Carlos. H. Caceres, University of Queensland, Australia. Students from other colleges presented their ideas in the paper presentation. The First day's session came to an end grandly by 2'o clock. In the second day, the keynote address was given by Dr.Ir. Wessel. w. Wits from the University of Twente, Netherland. PLACEMENT FEVER First time in the ACCET history, TITAN, a product based company came for their recruitment last week. The first round was online test on apptitude and reasoning and the result is yet to be announced. In parallel, PARI WASHINGTON COMPANY conducted their second round for 39 students,who had cracked the first round. The students' mathematical and reasoning skills were evaluated in this round and 15 of them cleared this round and are having their finger crossed for the result after the final round which was conducted today. EEE FEST - ALCONESY'16 The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineerig, inaugurated ALCONESY'16, the 19th National Level Technical Symposium on 21st of September, 2016, here at Murugappa Hall. This one day technical symposium was graced with a registration of 200 participants out of which 150 were choosen to compete. FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM The Faculty Development Programme for the Department of Mathematics on "Advanced Mathematics in Engineering" was sponsored by TEQIP II and was conducted at the Seminar hall, Science block. It is a one week programme that bloomed on Wednesday (14.9.16) and continues till next Tuesday(20.9.16). The HOD of the Mathematics department, Prof. R.Vasanthi, delivered the presidential address and welcomed the Chief Guest, Dr.S.Paulraj, Professor, Department of Mathematics, Anna University, Chennai. PLACEMENT FEVER The revisit from ZOHO shook the college last week. Students were heads on heels to grab the second opportunity  Three students were shortlisted for the final interview held at Chennai, yesterday(07/09/2016). Rajan Chakkravarthy of the Final year EEE Department was at last waitlisted by them. EEE ASSOCIATION The faculty, staff and the students of the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering solicitated the inaugural function of the EEE Association here on 6th of September at the Murugappa hall. Prof.Jebasalma, HOD welcomed  the gathering, followed by the presidential address by our Principal. Er. M. Nalini, Executive Engineer, TNEB, Karaikudi, delivered the inaugural address and enlightened the students with her special lecture on Power Systems. PLACEMENT FEVER The most awaited company, TECH MAHINDRA, came to our campus on Tuesday (30.08.2016 ). They conducted three rounds in which, around 150 students attended the first round, online apps, out  of which 45 students were advanced to the next levels, story writing and technical interview. Finally, 17 students were recruited by the company - MECH - 4,ECE -7,EEE-3, CSE-3. Hearty congratulations to all!!! Also ZOHO have made their way back to our college today(1st of September). Students are frantic to grab their second chance in getting placed in it.
