INDUCTION PROGRAMME: Getting along with change is the hardest part of our lives. And one such change is when we enter into our college life.The first years have been arranged with an induction programme from the 18th of August which is expected to continue till the 3rd of September in Murugappa hall. Faculties from the Science department gave motivational speeches on how to steer through college life. A yoga session was also conducted. A plan to revise over the High School portions is also on the list. It is sure that the freshers find this to be a head start. WORKSHOP-EMBEDDED PROGRAMMING: "Theories are just words, when they are not practically used". Electrical and Electronics Engineering department of our ACGCET has conducted workshop on"Embedded programming" for the pre-final year students . It was held on 10th and 11th of this month (August). The session started with the inspiring speech by Dr.K.Baskaran , Head of the EEE department.  The workshop was conducted by two faculties , Ms.Charumathi and Mr.Gautham from Yukthi Foundation ,who made this workshop into real hands-on- training session. The first day was an introduction to Mikro C and Proteus software which is used for embedded systems. The second day came with an training to write user interfacing programs for the real time applications. Overall ,the workshop helped the students to gain more knowledge about microcontrollers and real time embedded system. SANGAMAM: Reunion is always cherishable. And it gets merrier when one shares it. Sangamam- The reunion of the 1993 batch alumni on behalf of the Silver Jubilee. It dawned on the 4th of August and continued till the evening of the 5th in Murugappa hall.The big event was started off by the opening ceremony of hostel facilities that was built under the benevolent contributions of 93-batch alumnis. The event was made magical by Thiru.S.Ingersol's presence as chief guest. The special guest was Thiru.R.Ravikumar and the function was presided over by our respected principal Dr.A.Elango. PLACEMENT-ZOHO: ZOHO has always been a company that our students have looked up at. When they showed up last week, besides selecting few recruits from our college directly, two of our college final years were selected to attend HR round in Chennai. The result that both of them were given placements reached us on 23rd of July and it definitely is a happy thing to cheer. The duo who got placed are Kalaiyarasan.P and Mukesh.S from ECE department.
