THE ACCET TIMES GENERAL ARTICLE Jallianwala Bagh Massacre(1919) Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, also called Massacre of Amritsar, incident on April 13, 1919, in which British troops fired on a large crowd of unarmed Indians in an open space known as the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar in the Punjab region of  India killing several hundred people and wounding many hundreds more. It marked a turning point in India’s modern history, in that it left a permanent scar on Indo-British relations and was the prelude to Gandhi's full commitment to the cause of Indian nationalism and independence from Britain. On the afternoon of April 13, a crowd of at least 10,000 men, women, and children gathered in the Jallianwala Bagh which was nearly completely enclosed by walls and had only one exit. ACCET TIMES LEO CLUB -  Hextuple Contest The LEO club of our college organized an online contest “Leo Hextuple contest” for the students of our college. The events for the contest were Photography, Meme Creation, Poetry, Singing, Drawing and Craft Making. The Champions of our college Showcased their talents in all the events. THE ACCET TIMES THE INDIAN HISTORY: Partition of Bengal:  The first partition of Bengal was a territorial reorganization of the Bengal presidency implemented in 1905. The partition separated the largely Muslim eastern areas from the largely Hindu western areas on 16 October 1905 after being announced on 20 July 1905 by Lord Curzon, the then viceroy of India. Hindus were outraged at what they saw as a divide and rule policy(where the colonizers turned the native population against itself in order to rule), even though Curzon stressed it would produce administrative efficiency. Muslims tend to form their own national organization on communal lines. In response to the Swadeshi movement’s riots in protest against the policy, Bengal was reunited by Lord Hardinge in 1911.
