WE DO JALLIKATTU

Jallikattu issue -We need heroes with insights ! Not just heroes.

Its really great that ACCET united in favour of Jallikattu.
First of all , as engineers we are a class apart and we need to have a detailed view on what's going on around  than anybody else. This is a serious political issue and also an issue which has put our cultural identity into a big crisis.

A striking fact which we must admit is that nearly 90 percent of ACCETians would have never witnessed Jallikattu in person and knows nothing on the matter and are simply following the crowd .Again , we are not trying to prove anyone's ignorance as it requires no proof (we already are ignorant which is really bad )

Please do ask these questions to yourself before raising your voice in favour or against an issue like this when it comes to mass gatherings or protests

1.What is the protest ? Do I know anything on it
2.What is the major cause ?
3.I would like to participate in a protest. But do I know how to organise a protest legally ?
4.Who are the key players of protest?
5.Do I know why I'm doing this?

These are the questions which one must get naturally after 15 years of schooling.

Secondly ,
Prior to this issue Jallikattu
Ask these

1.What is jallikattu ?
2.What are the native breeds of cows of Tamil Nadu ?
3.What is A1 milk /A2 milk ?
4.What is PETA?
5.What is supreme court and what is PCA 1960 act ?
6.What is my power as a citizen to raise my voice in favour of an issue like this ?

Please do educate yourself :

10.Video link for confused north Indian friends of ACCET on what's exactly happening:https://youtu.be/KSRyIY3L_XQ

So the next time ,when your senior calls you out for a protest ,have the liberty of checking his knowledge on the issue.Choose to be guys with brains and show them in actions !!

Kudos to the spirit of ACCET!

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The department of Chemistry has organised a one week Faculty Development Program on Energy, Empowerment and Climate Change, "EECC 2017" from 18th of January to 24th of January. The event, presided by our beloved Principal, Dr. S. Rajakumar, kick-started successfully yesterday(18-01-2017). Me. A. V. Venkatachalam, IFS, Joint Managing Director, Tamilnadu Forest Plantation Corporation Ltd, Trichy, was the Chief guest.

ECE INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM

Inspite of protest and other issues, our  students from the ECE department are working in full swing for their First prestigious International symposium which is going to be held on 23.1.17 and 24.1.17.The detailed agenda and events of this symposium will be released next week. Until then, stay tuned with accet news.

It was an unusual day, everything went on in a usual manner. Out of the blue moon, we got a chance of doing intern at National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli ( NIT-T), by the reference of  Dr.S.Nageswari. It all happened in a cup of coffee time. wye built a crew soon. For the first time in ACCET history, a count of 8 members are doing intern under a staff reference. Semester end study holidays helped us to complete the preparation formalities. It was on 12.12.2016 that we started our internship program. We were segregated under four projects titled
1.POSITION ESTIMATION OF MOBILE ROBOTS USING CAMERA IMAGE FEEDBACK
2.CONTROL OF MULTIPLE ROBOTS
3.MOTION PLANNING OF MULTIPLE ROBOTS
4. CONTROL OF QUADCOPTER
Project coworkers are students of NITT, they had hands-on experience over the project which helped us to learn more and made it easy to gel with them. It's treasure time for us to handle multiple motion control LEGO robots, quadcopter, image processing cameras. Food and hostel stay gave an everlasting remembrance.
Things to be admired in the campus: (i)no time limits to work inside laboratory, (ii) 24x7 WIFI facility throughout the campus, (iii) Peaceful environment to explore, (iv)No attendance, (v)Full 50 minutes of class time is free to question professors, (vi) Excellent understanding between senior and junior.

MYSTERY CORNER

A photo published in the Los Angeles Times on February 26, 1942 has been cited by modern day conspiracy theorists and UFOlogists as evidence of an extra-terrestrial visitation. They assert that the photo clearly shows searchlights focused on an alien spaceship. However, the photo was heavily modified by photo retouching prior to publication, a routine practice in graphic arts of the time, intended to improve contrast in black and white photos. Los Angeles Times writer Larry Harnish noted that the retouched photo along with fake newspaper headlines were presented as true historical material in trailers for the film Battle: Los Angeles. Harnish commented, “if the publicity campaign wanted to establish UFO research as nothing but lies and fakery, it couldn’t have done a better job.”
