VIDIYAL-2K18 on (13/03/2018); came with howling success .The program was inaugurated with an elegant speech of our principal ER.C.ELANGO, followed by valuable speech of our chief guest DR.SANKAR RAM( pattimandra petchalar) and DR.MEENAKSHI SUNDARAM(Professor -alumni) , prof.Ramdas (The staff in charge faculty)which lighted up Dewan Bagadur Murugappa hall a spirit of Tamil .
The event started by praising language Tamil and vallal Dr .Alagappa by rendering Tamil Thai valthu and vallal valthu respectively. And lamp is lighted by our principal and chief guest. The part of an event enclosed dance and music performance, traditional events like drama(concept on drainage cleaner) ,mime (importance of water). Muthamil mandram is known for it’s pattimandram and this event lured the audience with delight ,on the topic of “ சமூக விழிப்புணர்வு இளைஞர்களிடத்தில் அருகி வருகிறதா? பெருகி வருகிறதா??” . As a part of an event competition is held on 26/02/2018 (speech) , 01/03/2018 (drawing and poetry writing) , 05/03/2018 (Essay writing and quiz) and the prize distribution for these event to the achievers is held on the day of function (13/03/2018).Overall the event stirred and glorified the strength of Tamil spirit among ACCETIANS .
NSS CAMP:
National Service Scheme unit of our college organised a special camp for our second year students in palavangudi village,near kundrakudi,from 8/3/2018 to 14/3/2018.This special camp was mainly organised by our nss regional coordinator prof.K.T.Loganathan ,prof.Geetha and prof.powlin and final and prefinal year coordinators.The main objective of this special camp is to find out the path of water flow in the village, to satisfy the basic water need of the villagers. The nss volunteers also performed many awareness programs such as rain water harvesting,digital banking and many other topics.
The camp held for seven days starting from 8 th march. Each day the schedule started with the thought of the day, yoga ,field work followed by morning breakfast. This is then followed by survey in the village which is organised by 17 teams consists of 2nd, 3rd,4th year volunteers. The survey was based on getting basic details of the villagers followed by creating awareness to people about digital banking,rain water harvesting, water scarcity. The survey took place for two days . After lunch, many games and skill developing talks were conducted for student volunteers.This is followed by special programs.
Each day, different programs where conducted on different topics by doctors and professors.First day, evening session was headed by our head of chemistry department professor Ramadevi mam with a brief talk on yoga. This was followed by culturals by second year students.
At the end of the seventh day camp ,best volunteers were selected. The best volunteer award was given for 6 students from second year volunteers.Arun kumar ,Muthuselvi and Gayathri from EEE department, Rajesh and Malarkodi from civil department,Arun from mechanical department. Best camp champion award was given for Prasanth from mechanical department and Vijayshalini from EEE department. The seven day camp came to an end with a vote of thanks given by professor Geetha mam.
The main success of the camp came from the words of the villagers who praised the discipline of our students ,which made the pride of the ACGCET to the next level.
Faculty development program:
The faculty development program for the year 2018 kick started on 14th of March in CSE department. Faculties from various department and colleges arrived at the venue to get facilitated.
On the first day of the program (14.3.18) , Dr.Annadurai addressed the crowd on the topic of image processing and application. The afternoon session of the same day was handled by K.G.Srinivasan who was from N.E.C National Engineering college. The following day was made informative by the HOD of ECE department from velammal college,Madurai. Our college professor Dr.Valarmathi ,HOD of EEE department made the afternoon session of 15th very informative. The knowledge showcased were about many upcoming technologies which includes machine vision ,pattern matching and many more. The program is expected to come to an end on 20th of March.
