Christmas:
Ho..Ho..Ho.. It is that part of the year! Christmas is around the corner. The Christian Holiday honouring the birth of Jesus. Christmas has also been a secular family holiday , observed by Christians and non-Christians alike, devoid of Christian elements, and marked by an increasingly elaborate exchange of gifts. In this secular Christmas celebration, a mythical figure named Santa Claus plays the pivotal role. He is believed to come around the world granting wishes on his one horse open sleigh.
Few of the main customs involves having a Fir tree in the house from December 1st and decorate it with candles and other instalments. The primary decoration had four candles on the tree denoting the four sundays before the celebration. This custom of bringing in Fir tree started around 1605 which was decorated with apples on it. This almost made the Fir tree named after this event, and since then called as Christmas tree.
