GENERAL ARTICLE:

WHAT IS A BLACK HOLE?

A black hole is a region of space from which nothing, not even light can escape. Despite the name they are not empty but instead consist of a huge amount of matter packed densely into a small area, giving it an immense gravitational pull .
There is a region of space beyond the black hole called the event horizon. This is a “point of no return”, beyond which is impossible to escape the gravitational effects of the black hole.

HOW IT IS FORMED?

Black holes of stellar mass are expected to form when very massive stars collapse at the end of their life cycle. After a black hole has formed, it can continue to grow by absorbing mass from its surroundings.

FIRST PIC OF THE BLACK HOLE:

It may not be how you imagined it after watching the movie” INTERSTELLAR”, but you can finally see the first real picture of the black hole. The image was taken over five days using eight telescopes and it depicts the supermassive black at the centre of “M87” a galaxy “54 million light years” away.  It was captured by the “Event Horizon Telescope (EHT)”, a network of eight telescopes. At last Einstein’s theory becomes true. And this is the greatest achievement in space science.

INTERESTING FACTS:

1.Bibliosmia:

We love the smell of old books that they have the aroma of dust and a whole lot of history. Well now we can call it something. “Bibliosmia” its the word we have probably been searching for our whole life. Sometimes the best thing about a book is that wonderful sensation of bibliosmia and some people are junkle for that!

2.Animal engineer:

Beavers are the largest living rodents (rats) in the world, which are also known as Animal engineers. They are known for building dams and canals. Their colonies create one or more dams to protect themselves against predators and to float food and building materials. In fact the idioms “busy as a beaver” and “eager beaver” are synonymous with being industrious and hardworking.

3.Ambigrams:

If we turn the word "SWIMS" upside down, it still says SWIMS Believe it or not, there's even a word for words like these. They're called "ambigrams".
