MEDICAL CAMP

Medical camp was conducted for ECE department this Tuesday (14.02.23). Basic requirements such as pulse, height and weight were measured. The doctor asked some basic questions regarding the student’s health and consulted in case of any abnormality. This is a much-needed practice now as many students are getting ill recently.

ARDUINO WORKSHOP

ARDUINO is a variant of C++ language. We engineers have the responsibility of learning and inventing things from the scratch through our creativity. Our fresher's club has taken this responsibility to another level by conducting a workshop on Arduino it consisted of a presentation on all about Arduino and the presentation was given by the coordinators of the fresher’s club on 14 February 2023 and they have also given a glimpse of Arduino hardware and Autodesk. This particular presentation has the outcome of students coding and progressing outputs on their own. The events have helped so much in doing their Thiran projects. From college tours to conducting technical events the coordinators of the fresher’s club have left no stone unturned for our newbies!

WORKSHOP ON ARDUINO BY SENIORS (ECE)

A workshop was conducted on the topic Arduino for second year ECE students of our college. This was due to the special efforts by the Head Of the Department Dr. A. Sivanantha Raja sir and Dr. S.Somasundaram sir  of ECE department. The workshop was conducted by the seniors and it was very useful to the students. The students were separated into batches and the first batch attended the workshop on 15th of February,2023. The remaining batch of students will be attending the workshop in the upcoming weeks.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT

3rd YEAR CSE

The primary goal of an industrial visit is to expose students to a practical working environment. Our college’s third-year computer science students went on an industrial visit to Kodaikanal. They went to the Kodaikanal Solar Observatory. It gave students a great opportunity to learn about industrial practices.

2nd YEAR ECE

Industrial visits provide the students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. Our second-year students of ECE department went for a two days industrial visit on 17th and 18th of February. Prof. C. Mahendran sir and Ms. C. Sinduja mam accompanied them. They went to visit All India Radio, Coimbatore and Techvolt Software Private Limited, Coimbatore to gain the knowledge of amplitude modulation, frequency modulation, receiver, transmitter of radio station and software testing along with Embedded Systems, IoT applications development respectively. They had great time over there with kindhearted staffs who explained their core knowledge with lots of patience.

3rd YEAR CIVIL

For third-year students, the civil engineering department organized a one-day industry visit on 17.02.2023. The civil engineering students travelled to several locations in PARAMAKUDI. The third-year civil department students have been greatly impacted by this one-day industry visit. Our college made sure that students visited industries for practical experience in addition to assisting them in learning from books. The third-year students also visited RESERVOIRS, IRRIGATION STRUCTURES, AND FOUNDATIONS, which are significant practical knowledge in civil engineering to be obtained. We hope that during their one-day visit to these industries, the 2020-2024 batch gained the most knowledge and created unforgettable memories.

SOLAR POWERED ELECTRIC VEHICLE

Despite the small number of charging stations available, interest in electric vehicles has increased as a result of this year’s record-high fuel costs. Sono Motors, a company based in Germany, hopes that their solar-powered car would make it unnecessary to use charging stations at all. To increase energy capture, Sono Motors covers the car’s whole exterior in thin, low-cost solar cells. Thomas Hausch, Sono´s COO, claims that “We’ve actually been able to capture light from the reflection off a white house.” The Sion’s range is only about 190 miles on a single charge, but on a bright day, you may practically double that and may not even need to plug it in. the solar-powered electric vehicle is likely to enter commercial production in the second half of 2023.
