FOOTBALL MEN’S MATCH

Inter-year boys football matches were held on March 7th for all four years. By defending third and second year, respectively, the final year and first year advanced to the finals. Final years won the match by a comeback of 0-2 to 3-2 in full time and took over the winner’s title, while first years finished runner-up. Congratulations to everyone who took part.

CRICKET MEN’S MATCH

On March 11, Saturday, a cricket match was held in the college main ground to commemorate our college Sports Day. The final match was between the final year and the third year, who had advanced by defeating the first and second years, respectively. Final years won the semi-finals by 112 runs and the championship by 8 wickets. Today’s top performers were Dhaya (64* runs and 4 wickets) and Thajesh (57* runs and 7 wickets). Congratulations to all of the players.

VOLLEYBALL MATCH

MEN

“Don’t aspire to be the best on the team, aspire to be best for the team” was what we’ve seen. The men’s volleyball match conducted on 10th march, 2023  had been an interesting and jaw dropping match , filled with players of various talents. The first and third years had played  and the second and fourth years played against each other. The teams that had entered the finals were the second and third years. After putting in the best of their efforts, the third years had won the first place and second years were the runner ups.

WOMEN

“Even if we’re not confident that we’ll win, even if others tell us we don’t stand a chance, we must never tell ourselves that.” , everyone who took part in the women’s volleyball match conducted on 9th march, 2023 played with the same vigor and had played their best . The first years first went against the third years and then the second years had played against the fourth years. Second years and third years had won their respective matches and had entered the finals. After a long yet an interesting match, the second years had won first place and the third years were the runners ups.

BALL BADMINTON

As part of the inter year sports, ball badminton match for men was held on March 4th,2023. The finals was held between the final years and the third years. The final years won the match and the third years took the runner up place. Congratulations to all the players for their participation.

WOMEN

As part of the inter year sports, ball badminton match for women was held on March 5th,2023. The finals was held between the first years and the second years. The first years won the match and took over the winner’s title. The second years took the runner up place. Congratulations to all the players for their participation.

BASKETBALL MATCH

MEN

Our college has decided to conduct inter-college sports competitions including every sport. One among them is an inter-year men's basketball final match that was held on 9th March 2023. The final year and third year entered the final stage defeating the second year and first year. The final match between the respective both years was won by the final year. Our hearty congrats to both the winner and runner-up of the match. Dr Aadhi moolam and Dr Mano Ranjith also joined with the principal Dr Palani to encourage the students.

WOMEN

HANDBALL MATCH

MEN

The Handball finals for men was held on 08.03.2023 in our college. The semifinals was held between 1st and 4th year and between 2nd and 3rd year. The final match was held for 3rd and 1st years in which 3rd year won the match with a score of 13 to 10. The overall points for 3rd year is increased to 60 leading every other year.

WOMEN

The inter year handball match for women was held on 07.03.2023 for all four years. The finals was held for 3rd and final year after they defeated 1st and 2nd years respectively. After a long and tough game, 3rd years secured the first place defeating final year. Our hearty congratulations to all players from respective years.

KHO-KHO MATCH

MEN

On 14th March, men's inter-year Kho-Kho match was conducted. Second year and third year went to finals by defeating final and first year respectively. Dr. K. Ramanathan Sir represented as Chief Guest for the final match. In the finale, third years won the match with their stunning moves and second years got runner-up.

WOMEN

On 10th March, women's inter-year Kho-Kho match was scheduled. In which first and second years entered the finals by defending third and final years respectively. Dr. S. M. Kavitha ma’am and Dr. X. Hyacinth Suganthi  were invited as chief guests for the finale match. Subsequently, in the finale, second year won the match by defeating the fighter first years. Congratulations to all the players.

KABADDI MENS MATCH

We all know that the Inter-Year Sports meet 2K23 of our college has been celebrated in a grand manner. As a part of this, Men’s Kabaddi match was conducted on 6th March. Third year and first year entered into the finals by defending fourth and second year respectively. In the final match, third Years won the match and took over the winners’ title and first Years got runner-up place. Congratulations to all players who took active participation.

HOCKEY MEN’S MATCH

Our college has been celebrating its inter-college sports day. To make sure every student showcases their talent on this wonderful platform. Our physical education department conducted finals for the Hockey match which was seemingly held on 12th March 2023. Second-year players defeated the other-year players and won the finals. Our heartfelt congratulations to the winners and the participants.

As a part of the INTER YEAR Sports Meet Men’s Badminton   was conducted on the second day (5th March) morning around 6.30 a.m. Third year and Second year entered into the finals by defending first and fourth year respectively. In the final match, third Years won the match and took over the winners’ title and second Years got runner-up place. Congratulations for their achievements.

WOMEN

The Inter-year Sports Meet has been conducted this year after a long break of two years due to COVID-19.  Badminton for women was conducted on the very first day of this occasion (4th March). All of the matches were knockout rounds, and the winning team will meet in the finals.  The first year and fourth-year teams fought in the finals. The first-year team dominated the match from the course and also won the match.

5000m FINALS

MEN
In the 5000m men's category finals, the first prize was bagged by Manikandan from third year, second prize was won by Manoj Kumar from final year and the third prize was secured by Bharathi from third year. Heartfelt congratulations to all winners and participants.

800m FINALS

MEN
In the 800m men's category finals, the first prize was secured by Sivakumar. M from first year, second prize was bagged by Gowshik Raj from third year. Congratulations to all winners and participants.

1500m FINALS

MEN

In the 1500m men's category finals, conducted for all years Bharathi. B from third year secured First year followed by Sunil Raj. R from second year and the third prize was bagged by Manoj Kumar. S from final year. Our hearty congratulations to all winners and participants.

WOMEN

Racing against athletes of all four years, ARUBA SIVARANJAN S from first year took first place in the Woman’s 1500m with an amazing record of 7:21.20 timing followed by VICTORIA P from second year in second position with a record of 7:33.09 timing and ARTI M from third year in third position with a record of 7:34.60. We wish you a hearty congratulations.

400m FINALS

MEN

In the 400m men's category finals, Sivakumar. m from first year bagged first prize and the second prize was won by Tamilarasan. N from final year and the third prize was taken by Kiruthicmal. SR from second year. Hats off to all participants and winners.

WOMEN

Racing against athletes of all four years, KEERTHANA V, first year took first place in the Woman’s 400m with an amazing record of 1:18.20 timing followed by AANDAL ABI, final year in second position with a record of 1:21.20 timing and POOJA in third position with a record of 1:27.20. We wish you a hearty congratulations.

200m FINALS

MEN

In the 200m men's category finals, the first prize was secured by Ramalingaraj from third year, the second prize was bagged by Bharath Kumar from second year, and the third prize was taken by Kavin Raj from third year. Heartfelt congratulations to all winners and participants.

WOMEN

In 200m women's category finals, the first prize was secured by Andal Abi from final year, the second prize was bagged by Kavya from second year and the third prize was taken by Nuthana. P. K from third year. Congratulations to the winners for their success.

SHORT PUT THROW

MEN

In the short put throw men's category finals, the First Prize was bagged by Karthikeyan. G from third year, second prize was taken by Kiruthicmal. S. R from second year and the third prize was won by Jan Jacob. D from second year. Congratulations to all participants and winners.

WOMEN

In the short put throw women's category finals, the first prize was secured by Nuthana. P. K from third year. Heartfelt congratulations to the winners and participants.

DISC THROW

WOMEN

As a part of inter-college sports tournaments Discus throwing is conducted for women on the sports day events, NUTHANA P from third year took first place in throwing at 16.89 Mts. The second and third positions were achieved by PRIYANKA N from final year and MADHUMITHA throwing at 12.44 Mts and 12.49 Mts. Congratulations to all the winners and participants.

TRIPLE JUMP

MEN

In the triple jump men's category, the first prize was won by Sivakumar. M from first year and the second prize was taken by Bharath Kumar from second year and third prize was secured by Thajesh Kumar from final year. Congratulations to all participants and winners.

LONG JUMP

MEN

In the long jump men's category finals, the first prize was bagged by Thajesh Kumar. V. L from final year and the second prize was taken by Bharath Kumar. M from second year, third prize was won by Kalaiarasan. R from third year. Congratulations to all winners and participants for your great success.

WOMEN

Our inter-college sports day had been conducted for two days including all the athletics tournaments for men and women. One among them is the Women's long jump, with AANDAL ABI from final year in first place covering 4.21 mts and consecutively KAVYA B from second year and AARTHI S from final year were in second and third place covering 4.02 mts and 3.46mts. Congratulations to all the winners and the participants.

OTHER EVENTS

The other events organized during the sports day include 100m, 400*100 relay, 400*400 relay. We greatly appreciate the success of the winners and the participants for their participation.

ATLEMIZ'23

After 3 years of Covid times, our college Physical Education department made the arrangements of the most awaited 67th Annual Sports Meet 2022-23. It was named as ATLEMIZ’23 which was organized on 21st March. The event started around 3: 30 with flag hoisting, Marchpast followed by Olympic torch lamping and oath taking. Next, several athletics events were conducted on the 20th and 21st for all the four years which include 100m, 200m, 400m heats, long jump, shot put, discuss etc., following these guest events were conducted. Er. K. Basheer Mohamed, Managing Director in Shabee Constructions, Pudukkottai, who is our alumni gave his presence and sparked the stage as Chief Guest. Our Principal Dr. P.K. Palani Sir presided over the function. Vice president Dr. K. Baskaran Sir welcomed the gathering, and our organization Secretary Dr. M. Athimoolam Sir also made his presence throughout the function.  The overall championship shield was achieved by third years. Overall men’s championship was awarded to 3rd years and overall women’s was awarded to 1st years. In the athletics 3rd years and 4th years got the overall award in men and women category respectively. In the individual championship award category Andal Abi and Sivakumar got in the men’s and women’s category respectively. Last but not the least, Andal Abi from CSE final year and Thajesh Kumar from EEE final year received the Best Outgoing medal which is sponsored usually by our alumni every year.
