VIDIYAL'23

On 5th April, Muthamizh Mandram of our college conducted “Vidiyal'23”. The main aim of this function is the release of magazine named “Sangamam”. Our Principal Dr. P. K. Palani Sir presided over the function. The famous speaker, Dr. R. Ramanadhan Sir was invited as the Chief Guest. He also judged the debate and shared his valuable thoughts with us. During cultural events, second- and third-year students showcased the brilliance of Tamil culture through various performances like Bharathanattiyam, Paraiaattam, oyilaattam, karagaattam. Mandram's faculty incharge Prof. K. Ramadas Sir organized the overall function and lead with complete dedication. Various competitions were held the week prior during the “Yaavana Vaaram” like essay writing, poem writing, drawing, oratory competition, Konjam nadinga Boss, tamiladal, kaanagam kandariga. The prizes for these competitions were also distributed for the respective students. The event was a grand success due the active participation of students and splendid efforts taken by the Mandram coordinators.

NSS CAMP 2023

“Where strangers become friends and friendships last forever”

The National Service Scheme of our college planned a seven days Special Camp for the academic year 2023 from 23rd March to 29th March at a nearby village called Kothari. The camp was held successfully with an active participation of about 150 second year NSS volunteers. The inauguration of the camp was held on 23rd March with the gracious presence of our Principal Dr.P.K.Palani sir and NSS staff coordinators Professor S.Balasundar sir, Dr.S.Pauline mam and Dr . S.M.Sivagami mam. The camp included various field works and other activities to keep the volunteers engaged and various faculties from our college delivered speeches every day. The valediction of the camp was held on 29th March in the presence of our Vice Principal Dr. K. Baskaran sir, Former NSS coordinator professor K.T.Loganathan sir ,NSS coordinators and people of Kothari village.

NSS MEDICAL CAMP

On account of our college founder Dr.R.M.Alagappa Chettiar’s death anniversary, Alagappa Nursing College, Karaikudi conducted a medical awareness program on 5th April,2023. Around 30 NSS volunteers from our college participated in the awareness program. The volunteers were given awareness on CPR treatment, first aids to be provided for stroke, choking and many cases. Overall, it was great learning experience for our volunteers.

TOP DESIGNERS 2023

With great enthusiasm, the students from second and third year ECE department had taken part in the National Level Top Designer competition. The competition was held at Sudharsan Engineering College, Pudukkottai on 01.04.2023. The event provides an excellent platform to showcase talent and networking with designers. Third year students, Thiviyadarssini, Kavya and Sowmiya had won first place; Arthi, Divya Barathi and Lavanya won third place; Tharini, Rishika and Mahadevi won fourth place. Hearty congratulations to all the winners and the participants who showcased their best efforts.

ROTARACT COORDINATORS' SELECTION

On 16th March, Rotaract club of our college organized the selection of coordinators for our 1st year coordinators. The selection had a basic interview and an interview testing their skills. They also selected coordinators from the 2nd year lateral entry and transfer students. Students from all departments took active participation and showcased their uniqueness and boldness which impressed all.

MECHANICAL SYMPOSIUM: FUELS

Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with Mechanical Association of ACGCET organized an intra collegiate symposium “FUELS” on 11th April. Dr. K. Ramanathan Sir and Dr. U. Natarajan Sir convened the overall symposium with the support of coordinators, Dr. J. Prabakaran Sir and Dr. P. Raveendiran Sir. Having our Principal Dr. P. K. Palani Sir as Patron, the one-day symposium hit a grand success. They had many technical and non-technical events in their symposium like Mech-Ted, Motor Montage, tug of war, squid game etc,.

SERIES TEST

The second series test for all second- and third-year students was held from 29th of march to 10th of April in various venues. All the worked hard to prepare for this series test which would assist them in preparing for their upcoming semester exams.

MAGNETIC SLIME ROBOT

A magnetic slime robot is a self-healing soft robot made up of polyvinyl alcoholborax and neodymium magnet particles. It was co-created by professor Li Zhang of Chinese University of Hong Kong. It is a non-Newtonian fluid that behaves like a liquid or solid depending on force, having "visco-elastic properties". The robot is developed by and could be deployed inside the human body to perform tasks such as retrieving objects out of it. Contrary to its name, it currently does not have a robot in it, and is only controlled by magnets. It can reach speeds of 30 millimetres per second.
