Thiran the new pattern
The basic idea behind different project level is step-by-step learning in simple and easy steps where students get confidence on their skills and say "Yes. I can do it"
Level 1:
Open to all years. Typically these will be students who have not done any THIRAN project. The goal is to make them do an already completed project again. Just like ‘Do It Yourself’ projects. They may also document the project and make it available as a guide to help future L1 members accomplish the learning.
The intent is that L1 imparts the skill necessary for taking up L2 projects.
Even final year student who has not acquired L1 skills should opt for L1 only.
The idea is that in one cycle of Thiran a student will do 2-5 L1 projects.
They can be asked to demonstrate one of the L1 projects during Demo Day.
The L1 should be designed such that successful completion of tasks in this category qualifies a person to take up L2. Project should be documented in tutorial format (or least lab report format) so that future L1 project takers can take up this project.
Level 2:
When Student opts for L2, they should have already done things hands-on.
The reason for asking for skills is to ensure that the student is skilled in some of the tools / technology to do a L2 project.
L2 is usually an improvisation of an existing project (Can be last Year Thiran Project) or an extension of a simple idea/circuit that the student trained on as L1. The student should have the skill necessary to accomplish this.
Last Thiran Prize Winners from 3rd and 2nd years can join Level 2.
Level 3:
Level 3 projects are projects that the project is of good quality and meets that is expected out of an Engineering student. The project is expected to be more aligned to practical applications and industry Thiran Level 3 Project by itself should help a student get very good placement offers.. Students who have successfully completed Level 2 can participate in L3. That is the long term roadmap.
For this Jan to Mar 2015 edition probably all final year students may be given an option to join Thiran L3.
Note: Need more clarity? Ask OGC to collect the doubts (however basic) and email Thiran organisers ASAP.
PLACEMENTS
Congratulations!! Three students of ACCET (each one from the dept, of
ECE,CSE,& from MCA) got selected in 'INFOFACES', in the last two days.
With a view of our alumini's words, the final year students are making
their own goals & making efforts and this is a sample for it. But this
should be continued till our vision of maximum placement is achieved.
Hopes and wishes to those people yet to be placed. !!!
CLEAN ACCET Swachh Bharath-Clean India Movement which was started by our Hon’ble Prime minister Mr.Narendra Modi is spreading all over India.
