EEE SYMPOSIUM:


"Hardwork along with the team work always pays off to success" 
The National level Technical symposium of our EEE department-ALCONESY , held on 12th September ,with a great response from the  students of other colleges. The function started with the lighting of the traditional lamp. Our beloved principal Dr.A.Elango presided over the function. Head of the EEE department, Dr.K.Baskaran welcomed the gathering. As a gem of the function ,Dr.M.L.Valarmathi, principal of government college of engineering, Dharmapuri enlightened the students with her inspiring speech. The function was honoured by the presence of chief guest,Mr.G.Senthil Kumar, Deputy general manager of BGR Energy systems Ltd.
The symposium started with a paper presentation event followed by other technical events such as technical quiz,see through C, project event. Nearly ,80 students from other colleges participated in various events. Various projects from many colleges were displayed . Along with these technical events ,many fun events were also conducted for students.
The function came to an end with a prize distribution followed by the vote of thanks. Cash prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners of different events. 
Overall ,the symposium became a great success with hardwork of all staff in charges and coordinators of EEE Association. It added a gem to the crown of ACGCET.

NCC INAUGURATION:


‘Recognize that every interaction you have is an opportunity to make positive impact on others’. Proving this word NCC of ACGCET laid strong foundation in the hearts of the student with a great motivation. This session held on 11th September at Sangamam hall .First year students made their active participation. It is carried on with splendid speech of NCC unit commanding officer colonel.Ajay Joshi and Associate NCC officer LT.Selvaraj .It made a great motivation ,faith and confidence among students.

ISTE:



ISTE events have made tuesdays to be "Wisdom Tuesdays". This week's Tuesday(11.09.18), Mechanical ,Civil and Computer Science department conducted sessions related to their core. The students got benefited and clarified their doubts.

GATE CLASS:


The Electrical and Electronics engineering department of ACGCET has arranged special classes for their students on GATE coaching on weekends. The classes are planned for a duration of nearly 3 months till the end of this academic year. Staffs from coaching centres are arranged for the classes. The classes are becoming really useful for final year students who are preparing for their gate exams.

PLACEMENT NEWS:


 Orzota is a big data solutions company that provides technology enabled services to help businesses accelerate their big data projects. Kishore Kumar and Backiyarani from CSE department were selected in the on-campus selection process. And Nivedha from CSE department got waitlisted. Congratulations on their success!

MUSIC CLUB:


Amidst all the clubs regarding knowledge share and fun events, Music club of ACGCET is one of a kind. They conducted a selection for budding singers on the 11th of September in Music room. And by the 18th of this month, we expect a selection for instrumentalists.T


MECH- TREASURE HUNT:


This is the season of symposiums in ACGCET. Our college is well known for its grand symposiums of various departments. Among the five magnificent departments of our college, the Mechanical department conducted its most renowned event 'Treasure hunt' this Saturday(8.9.18) for its upcoming symposium (Fuel-18).
It was a massive event with almost 15 teams, holding 4 per team. The event comprised of 3 rounds. In the 1st round, each team were given individual clues, and the mechons hunted the college with spirit. At last 8 teams succeeded in sailing the next round. This round was prominent as the team were given coordinates of a particular place which possed the next clue. This puzzling round was cleared by two teams which were taken to the finals. Both teams lead in the final round among which 'Phoenix' of the 2nd year had triumphed. As a whole, it was an effort worthy event.

FRESHER'S EVENT:


Freshers club of our college plotted an event named 'Peddle' this Tuesday. It was a fun event organised for our freshers based on share marketing. Students were united as groups and were made to develop their acting skills and overcome stage fear. What happens when our student's acting skills and ability to innovate merge?. This is what happened at the event. Every group advertised a product, made their own price tag, and the one who had a lot of auctions were made the best. Students gave their mass performance.

LEO EVENT:



This week LEO club of ACGCET organized an event named 'Break the routine'. It was a proficient event as it was carried away by a special chief guest. The former president of LEO club Mr.Praveen Kumar appeared with his own skills. He guided us with his knowledge on aptitude with amusement. The disciples followed his instructions with keen attention everyone was enthusiastic to answer his questions. Finally, the present President terminated the event by gifting him a memorable keepsake.

FRESHER'S WORKSHOP:


Attending workshops is a fraction of our engineering life. As we all know, we are used to it in our 2nd and 3rd years. But our present freshers showed they're raring towards it in the very first month of their college life. The massive count to the 'Internet awareness' workshop conducted by Freshers club of ACGCET on 8th September  showed it all. It was taken over by Nishanth of final year EEE department. He guided the students with all his tactics on the internet, right from email to designing and photoshops. Next came Sasimadhavan of 2nd year to show his dexterity on solving a rubric's cube within 25 seconds. Students were so excited about seeing his skill. At last, the workshop was terminated by Sangeetha of 3rd year CSE department who expound some ideas regarding projects and guided them with some noteful links. Thus the freshers were aided with basic awareness.

GENERAL ARTICLE:



This week ends with marvelous celebration vinayar chaturthi.Ganesh chaturthi or Vinayak chaturthi is one of the major traditional festivals celebrated by the Hindu community.The festival last for 10 days, ending on Ananta chaturdashi, and is traditionally celebrated as the birthday of lord Ganesha.According to Hindu mythology,Lord Ganesha is the son of shiva and parvathi.Out  of the  most stories that associated to the history of Ganesh chaturthi,the most popular one has its roots  with lord Shiva and his consort Goddess parvati.According to the story, Goddess parvati created Ganesh with the sandalwood paste while lord Shiva was away. While she was taking a bath she asked Ganesh to guard the entrance door. In the meantime,when lord Shiva returned ,he was stopped by Ganesha which led to a tiff between them.In course of anger,lord shiva cut off Ganesh's head. When Goddess Parvati told Shiva who Ganesha was,he promised that he would give Ganesha a new life, and fixed an elephant's head on him, restoring his life and this way our Lord Ganesha was born and this rebirth of the elephant-headed boy is celebrated as the auspicious occasion of Ganesha chaturthi.On this wonderful day,people usually get up early in the morning and take a bath so that they can proceed toward the temple to offer their prayers to Lord Ganesha.Various artistic clay models of Lord Ganesha, varying in sizes and poses, are prepared by the artisans.These statues are installed in decorated pandals in homes,temples and mandaps.Flowers and lights enhances the beauty of statues installed.When the rituals begin,the priest chants mantras to invoke life into the idol.The entire ambience turns lively with trendy music,drum beats and dances of  devotees. Lord Ganesha is considered to be the God of wealth,knowledge,wisdom  and prosperity.The essence of this festival lies in the fact that the devotees worship Ganesh to free their lives of all sins and substitute them with knowledge and action.It is strongly believed  by the devotees that praying to lord Ganesha can fulfill their wishes and desires.
