EZHU VELAIKKARA – A Tribute to Everyday Heroes

 


As part of the Labor Day celebrations, the Leo Club of ACGCET organized “EZHU VELAIKKARA” on 01.05.2025 at the Kotaiyur, Karaikudi. The event aimed to honor the efforts of daily wage workers and highlight the dignity of labor. Volunteers actively took part by distributing refreshing juice and assisting local cucumber vendors, providing them firsthand experience of the challenges faced by these workers. Shawls were presented to selected workers as a token of appreciation. Food was also given to the workers as a token of gratitude. The program served as a touching reminder that empathy and small acts of kindness foster a more compassionate and respectful society.


Convocation Ceremony 2024 – ACGCET, Karaikudi

 


The Convocation Ceremony for the 2024 batch of Alagappa Chettiar Government College of Engineering and Technology (ACGCET), Karaikudi, was held with pride and enthusiasm at Murugappa Hall. The event began with the academic procession, followed by Tamil Thai Vazhthu and Vallal Vazhthu, honoring cultural and institutional traditions. The principal delivered the welcome address, appreciating the students’ determination and achievements over the years. An esteemed chief guest inspired the graduates with a motivating speech, encouraging them to embrace innovation, ethics, and lifelong learning. Degrees were conferred upon students from all departments including Civil, Mechanical, EEE, ECE, CSE, with medals and certificates awarded to academic toppers. The event was filled with joy and emotion as students, parents, and faculty celebrated this significant milestone. The ceremony concluded with the national anthem and group photographs, as the Class of 2024 stepped confidently into the next phase of their journey


Orientation Programme for Second-Year Mechanical Engineering Students

 


 

As a course of welcoming second-year students to the department, the Mechanical Engineering Association of our college organized an Orientation Programme on 08.07.2025 at Sangamam Hall. The event offered valuable insights into departmental structure, academic platforms, innovation through IIC, and opportunities in core domains like design and thermal science. Expert sessions on competitive exams and placement guidance enriched the students’ vision. The Mechanical Association’s introduction and upcoming activities were also shared. The programme served as a perfect platform to inspire and equip students for their academic and professional journey ahead


Oru Naal Uzhaippali – A Tribute on Workers’ Day


 

On the occasion of May 1 – International Workers’ Day, the Rotaract Club of our college organized a remarkable social initiative titled "Oru Naal Uzhaippali". This thoughtful project took place at the Karaikudi New Bus Stand, to honour the contributions of the daily workers. As part of the initiative, students actively joined hands with the workers to remove unwanted advertisement posters from the walls, promoting cleanliness and community awareness. This effort was not just about cleaning, but a symbolic gesture of respect towards the hardworking individuals who serve our society daily. In recognition of this impactful project, we were honoured by the Karaikudi Mayor, who appreciated the club's commitment to civic responsibility and environmental care. The project served as a powerful reminder of the dignity of labour and the impact of youth-led service.


Semester Exams 2025: A Glimpse Into the Exam Season

 

The semester exams for the academic year 2024–2025 were conducted in a well-structured manner, giving clear preference to each academic year’s schedule. The First-Year theory exams were held from 05.05.2025 to 16.05.2025, followed by the Second Year and Third Year exams from 19.05.2025 to 30.05.2025. Final Year students appeared later from 09.06.2025 to 20.06.2025, allowing them to focus on project submissions and placement activities. All exams were held at the Main Campus Examination Hall, with Murugappa Hall assigned to EEE and Mechanical, and the Drawing Hall to ECE, CSE, and Civil departments. The smooth execution of the exam schedule reflected the disciplined coordination between faculty and students.


THE CROWN IS OURS: Rotaract club receives crown award

 

In a moment of pride and celebration, the Rotaract Club of our college has been honored with the prestigious Crown Award, securing the title of the overall best Rotaract club among all the college. The award recognizes the club's remarkable contributions, impactful initiatives, and consistent dedication to service and leadership throughout the year. With numerous successful events, community service projects, and innovative programs, the Rotaract Club stood out among all other colleges. This achievement reflects the hard work, passion, and teamwork of its members, who continue to inspire positive change and uphold the true spirit of Rotaract.


From Stage Fright to Spotlight: Students Find Their Voice

 


On the occasion of 11th July 2025 and 12th July, the ACCETOSA and Thiran organisation conducted a workshop on the topic “Effective Public Speaking”, conducted exclusively for second year students. In the auspicious event, two chief guests were invited to interact with the students to gain knowledge about Public Speaking. The chief guests were S. Nagalingam, who is a Retired customs commissioner, Madurai and N. Sivapiran, who is a stability engineer. As the Public Speaking skill is one of the important skills to be acquired an engineering student, this workshop helped the students who participated in the workshop for their improvement in public Speaking. Many activities, be it outdoor or indoor, was conducted by the chief guests to the students. The students like the approach and the way the guests conducted the workshop. The guests were very interactive and made students learn much more about public speaking. The students enjoyed the workshop, and they gained lots of knowledge about public speaking.

Tech Bytes are especially useful for students, professionals, and busy learners who want to stay current without reading lengthy articles. They offer practical tips, trending tools, and concise explanations that can be applied immediately. For example, a Tech Byte might introduce an AI feature in smartphones or explain a new productivity tool in under two minutes. Organizations are increasingly using them for training and awareness programs. With growing demand for microlearning, Tech Bytes are emerging as a modern solution to continuous tech education. They are not just short updates—they are the future of smart learning.
