MAIL INTERVIEW
(MS.ANUSUYA NALLATHAMBI
2013 BATCH ECE)

1.If a wish is granted ,to go back to  school life or college life..what you will choose??If so reason please?

I would choose to go back to school life. College life was too stressful. Too many high-stake decisions to be made. But school life was fun. Simple and uncomplicated.

2.How did you adopt to  Japan?Whether you felt difficulty in learning Japanese language??(optional question)
Moving to Japan was indeed difficult. I did have a mild culture shock. Everything was different. But it lead to me growing up to be an adult. The life here was very hard when I did not know Japanese, i.e the first six months after I moved to Japan. By daily practice and proper guidance I have overcome that problem by 75 percent now. I still have a lot of learning to do when it comes to the language but I have the confidence that I will get there.

3.Alagappa chettiar college of engineering and technology How did it shape you as an engineer?
I can't say it helped me in gaining professional experience of an engineer but it helped me get better as an engineering student. It taught me to look at the concepts of what is being taught instead of just mugging up the text.
4.How's engineering or how are  engineers outside INDIA?
In India we focus too much on theoretical knowledge and performance in exams. Our managements don't invest all that much in training the students practically. We give too much importance for marks in examinations which can be easily scored if one knows how to mug up large amounts of texts. If I have to compare this to outside India, I will have to compare to what's being followed in Japan. Here they give higher value for practical knowledge and they train their students through practical methods. They don't have 3 hour long gruelling exam structure for evaluation like we do. They give assignments which are set in such a way to make the student think and then evaluate him or her based on the quality of their technical thinking. There will be no question of copying or other such tactics. The managements here also invest lots of money in buying industry-grade equipments required for every department so that the students can be trained in the most relevant technologies. I find this a bit more successful than the structure we follow in India.
