The government is rolling out an ambitious programme to make Kerala a preferred destination for investment in electronics systems design and manufacture (ESDM) by 2020.The proposal, a major component of the Kerala Industrial and Commercial Policy (Amended)-2015 cleared by the State Cabinet on Wednesday, seeks to set up manufacturing units for the electronics industry in Thiruvananthapuram.
The policy includes plans to develop Industrial Development Zones (IDZ) in and around the state.It proposes a Rs.100-crore green financing scheme to channelise investments in green and clean industries.A 30 per cent investment subsidy will be provided for women entrepreneurs to establish industrial units.This program would definitely open up a new path way for lots of common people to establish their own company and Unemployment problems would be vanished.

As a part of Digital India program launched by our Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi we have celebrated the Digital India week (1.7.2015-7.7.2015) in our college. A seminar was conducted on 6.7.2015 in ECE department where the vision of this program was clearly explained. A technical director from Sivaganga district described about the entire program.
The main aim of this program is to make India a paper free India and to make it a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. This program has three key areas:
i)Digital Infrastructure as a Utility to every Citizen.
ii)Governance and services on demand.
iii)Digital Empowerment of Citizens.
It also aims to provide Broadband Highways, Universal access to Mobile, Public internet access program, E-governance : reforming government through technology, eKranti -Electronic Delivery of services, Information for all, Electronics manufacturing, IT for jobs and Early Harvest Programs which they call as nine pillars of this program each of which has several effective plans like providing wi-fi availability in all universities and schools, making school books as e-books, sms based weather information and disaster alerts, information for farmers about real time price and ordering inputs, medical consultation , patient details, medicine supply, employment opportunities for 1.7 crore people directly and nearly 8.5 crore people indirectly, etc……
He also showed a demo how we can register in it to have our very own digital locker. We can register in the following link http://digitallocker.gov.in using our adhaar card number. In this digital locker we can store all our documents like certificates, etc… we can share these documents to anyone anywhere.
