MISSILE MAN’S BIRTHDAY:
In recent history, only a few had endeared themselves to the young and old, poor and the rich, and to people belonging to different faiths. One among those few is our inspiration, our role model……….A.P.J.Abdul Kalam. Today is his 84th birthday and for us it is his first birthday, we are celebrating without him but with his blessings.
As a student born in a humble family, he sold newspapers to support the family and finance his education. A man, who was considered not good enough to fly a plane, became the architect of India's missile programme. From somebody who was rejected as a fighter, Kalam went on to become the face of India's nuclear programme. After serving a five year presidency term, he returned to the civilian life of writing, teaching and public service. He became a visiting professor at different Indian Institute of Management (IIM) at Shillong,  Ahmedabad and Indore. He also launched a programme for Indian youth called ‘What Can I Give Movement’ to fight against corruption. He received many prestigious awards like ‘Bharat Ratna’, ‘Padma Bhushan’, ‘Padma Vibhushan’ and also an award that is hardly given,  that is nothing but ‘people’s heart’. So no doubts in calling him ‘The people’s  president’.
There is a beautiful  quote ‘Be the change you want to see in others’. One such  personality who led a life which he expected in others. He himself is the example of his words ‘Your birth could have been an incident but your death should be a history’.  Let’s take resolution on this day to fulfill his dream of making India developed by 2020.

In the department of EEE, Professor G.Amudhan sir has announced a democratic quiz i.e. quiz of the students organized by the students (of same class) for the students for Assignment on his own effort!
In ACCET too the assignment schedule have been on its changing phase from regular papers to some sort of real time evaluations. Kudos to all of them.

The flight man- our founder:
We all know well Right brothers. But our founder is the one who started the madras based aviation i.e. in Tamilnadu he is the Right son as rightly said.
Nearly Sixty years ago, during World war-II an aircraft (American made) Douglas-3 (Dakota) made its most memorable feat being flying the china military aid to halt Japanese advance.
As soon as the world war ended, hundreds of Dakotas became surplus. And Government of India offered scores of Rs.10 lakh for Rs.30, 000 each plane. To meet civilian safety requirements and passenger comfort- the aircrafts were sent to the Hindustan Aircraft factory in Bangalore.  Tata’s about the only organization at the time of running in air service, bought eight of them and made their lead in 1947-48 and India began to fly (Karachi-Calcutta).
In the south, the first airline to take to air was Deccan Airways, funded by Nizam of Hyderabad. But in Tamilnadu Dr.Rm.Alagappa Chettiar , our founder bought eight of those flights and made flight service possible and he leased those aircrafts to government too!
So he is not only rich at prosperity but also rich at heart to make a flight service started to the whole TamilNadu.
Indeed a great man!
