VANDE MAATARAM

The majestic Rajpath saw a fascinating display of India’s military might and resplendent cultural diversity as the country celebrated its 68th Republic Day today, with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan attending the event as guest of honour. From rain in Delhi to freezing temperatures in Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir to the tight security in Assam and Manipur, here’s a look at Republic Day celebrations across India.

Here our NCC cadets fulfilled that role of pride with their special drill in ACCET  campus.

FIESTA 2K17

Even semester always brings excitement, fun and thrills with it in the form of Sports day, Culturals, Interyear matches and so on. But for our girls out here in the hostel, it also brings FIESTA, a day of celebration and mainly, food. Out of the custom, this year, we had FIESTA for two days. The first day(25-01-2017) gave us a delicious lunch and a snack while the second day(26-01-2017) brought with it scrupulous breakfast, snack and dinner. Apart from food, what really made our day was the celebrations that we had at eve these two days. Hell broke loose here as girls moved their feet to all kinds of music and performed various acts. Everything was made and done by the girls to the girls and for the girls.

FRESHERS

TACKLE THE QUEEN OF SCIENCE

This talk session made everyone gathered to fall in love with the true Queen of science, which many of us hate in reality, the Majestic MATH.

Hosted by the Final yr student of the Mechanical department, Aravind.A, this event went interactive with a pretty decent crowd. He first emphasized the importance of Maths  in our studies and even its crucial role in aptitude solving.

As he propelled rockets of numbers on the students, they made it through the session starting from simple two digit multiplication to complex calculation with unknown mere tricks.  All he wanted to say was “ Love the Queen (maths) and it will love us back”  . At last, we saw a glimpse of the upcoming events. So, all ended off with a taste in the mouth and tricks in the mind.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Leo events are rushing in a queue for the students to turn this February to Leo February. Leo Premier league ASLAN 2k17 is a call for cricketers to yell out their signature shots.              Bravo!!!!!!  Rangoli is a beautiful art which just needs a proper planning before the making of art on floor or walls. Here is an opportunity from Leo club to play with Rangoli and Mehandhi.

VOYAGE BEYOND THE HORIZON

For the past two and a half years, We may  have traveled to different places for  different reasons. But for the first time, stepping into work circle from the traditional study circle,  really gives a pleasant feel.
NOTE THESE FIRST:
No books,  No lectures,  No exams, No time table and also No time limit.  I can hear your mind voice dear reader,  "What else you had there?". THIRST.. !! Yes.  The thing I learnt in my internship period is Hunger for exposure which brings us knowledge. A cabin with 2 AC's,  6 fans provided with 24*7 WiFi of 10Mb/s and well equipped IC Engines laboratory in IIT, Madras, where we did our Internship for 1 solid month just gave the view of IIT's  facility. But the IITians and their life style showed us where we are lagging. Once chance of getting an intern opportunity seemed to me as scarce as Hen's teeth. But where do the people in IIT go for intern? Have you ever though? Georgia, Stanford, California,  Princeton, Etc. When I got to know this, I got a new life lesson: "AIM HIGH, If you lose the moon at least stars will be there".  Mithun Ravi( from Third year Mechanical department) and myself (Vidhya subramanian from third year Ece) should be thankful to our Prof. A. Ramesh, IITM. I am proud to say that he is our college alumnus of 1978-83 batch and now my beloved inspiration. We were also sent with another responsibility, which is, to encourage all my friends to write GATE and inspire them to get into higher positions in educational and administrative field of our society. And we are here, back with mindset to DO THE TUFF THINGS - the best attitude our professor sowed in our mind.
