ACCET PRIDE - NSS

NYLP

ACCET, Karaikudi NSS team secured "NYLP AWARD", First Prize with a cash Prize of Rs.50000/- & a Silver Medal in the National Young Leadership Programme conducted by Anna University Chennai, National Youth Affairs and Sports &  NSS Regional Directorate. Clearing of karuvela trees and plastic and adoption of Palavangudi village by our ACCET NSS students played a key role for the NYLP award (Ref:accetnews cover story last week ). Hats off to the work of Prof. K. T. Loganathan (Department of chemistry) and Program officer Dr. S. Maariraji Mohan (Department of Civil) who did the presentation on the college activities. This confirmed our distinguished glory. Our Principal, program officer and few NSS volunteers received the award in person.

VSAI DESIGN CHALLENGE

Vsai, a new era of Bicycling, manufactured by a 6 member alumni crew of ACCET is here with a design challenge. The Mechanical engineers are welcomed to conceptualize a simple, yet purpose built electric bikes with an eye on manufacturing feasibility. Students are requested to submit their ideas as CAD models. Last date for submission is four weeks from tomorrow. The most exciting part of the challenge is that the winning design will be selected for the product phase. Doubts if any are to be clarified with R. Vivek Thangarajan and K. R. Solaiyappan whose numbers are given in the poster.

UPSC EXAM TRAINING

 Alagappa University is providing training classes for aspiring candidates starting from March, 5, continuing every Sunday henceforth. First two classes would be introductory classes where the syllabus will be discussed. The candidates are requested to apply before 17th. The exam is due on 18/06/2017.

ACCET FESTS

THINK QUEST

On 1.3.2017 (wednesday), the Department of EEE walked through an intra symposium named THINK QUEST, well organised by our Third year students from the same department. Following are the events that were conducted: Paper presentation, C-chef, Do or Die and last but not the least, the hero of the sympo, ROBO SOCCER, which was a blast, due to the interesting participation of both second and third year students. Each of the robots were amazing. Students participated in each events with full enthusiasm. Finally, prizes were given at the time of validiction.

TECCATRONZ

After a long wait, the voice of the First years vibrated the campus in a  SAHA tone. TECCATRONZ- 2k17, a two day (28.02.2k17- 01.03.2k17) National level Science and Humanity symposium, sponsored by TEQUIP II drizzled the gallant techfest .
Day 1 of SAHA started with a Presidential address by Dr. A. Elango, our Principal, the welcome note by Dr.A.Ramadevi(Head of Chemistry) followed by the Chief guest intro by Dr. B. V. Buvaneshwari (Associate professor & Head of Physics) and an interactive session by the Chief guest Er. Achudhan Mani inspired the students. With 20+ teams from various colleges, the second day of the symposium turned into a technical forum and gave a combat which raised the standard of the fest to the next level. M-FEST

M-FEST, a National level symposium organised by the MCA association on 27. 02. 2017 caught the attention of ACCET guys and gave stunning surprises to the participants. Winners got cash treats and Alagappa University students won the overall trophy. Grand success of the fest added more glory to the ACCET crown.

WORKSHOPS

ICMOC' 2017

A two day INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON MICROWAVE AND OPTICAL COMMUNICATION, sponsored by Teqip-ll was held on 1.3.17 and 2.3.17 at the sangamam hall. The cheif guests were Dr.vijayamohan, K. Pillai, Director of CSIR and two foreign delegates, Dr.Ampalavanapillai Nirmalathas who came all the way from the University of melbourne, Australia and Dr. Mostafa Ali Hussein from Alexandria, Egypt. The inagural address was given by Dr. Vijayamohan Pillai. He articulated the importance of Communication and its challenges, followed by Dr. Ampalavanapilla and Dr. Mustafa, meritorious scholars on Optical Communication, shared their knowledge on their field and thus the ICMOC ended well with refreshments.

QUADCOPTER

The Mechanical department is here to blow your minds off by conducting a national level workshop about "Quadcopter", joining hands with I- cell, IIT Bombay and RoboKart.com on March 22 &23. Registration fees is Rs 900 for other students and for our ACCETians it's Rs 650. For further details contact
