In the splendid evening on 5.10.2017, the TECHLIT ASSOCIATION OF ACCET had conducted a fabulous event named "AM I PROFESSIONAL". First year and second year buds of ACCET had participated and gained innovative ideas. This event mainly aimed at exhibiting their talents, presence of mind and their speaking skills. A piece of newspaper was given to the team, the content contained in the newspaper should dictated by one member of their team and the other two should grasp the news which was mentioned in the content and finally they had to deliver the news in a professional manner. This was the theme.PLACEMENT PEP TALKS
We personally think that sometimes, it’s better to take some time off the placement statistics and have a chit chat with our altruistic alumni about their experiences.
Here is a small pep talk with one of our college alumni….none other than Mr. karthick Shiva from 2013-2017 batch CSE dept, who got placed in Zoho corp.
1) How was your first day at work ?
The first day at my office was full of astonishments. After the joining formalities and the induction program, I was directed to the 9th floor of my office. I walked in and stood in a corner waiting if someone would guide me into. Then, I was shocked when someone called me my name. He was the one who conducted my interview at the college and he was also my Team lead. He gave me some tasks that day and introduced me into the product "Zoho Reports".
2) Please describe your workspace as a programmer in Zoho corp.
Only who learns by him/herself will survive here. Unlike other companies, no dedicated training for freshers’ will be given here. You have to learn by doing. Everyone around you will be extremely talented. As a fresher, you can learn so many things within a short span of time.
3) In your point of view, what are the areas that our college students should focus ?
Just concentrate on the basics. Gain some practical knowledge in your field. Apply those knowledge to solve problems in your surroundings
Just concentrate on the basics. Gain some practical knowledge in your field. Apply those knowledge to solve problems in your surroundings
4) Apart from the academia, what are the skills that are to be self-learned ?
Learn something only few percent of the population can do
5) Please brief out your experience at Zoho corp.
Zoho is an amazing place to work at. The weeks are always eventful, with celebrations and events happening every other week. There are quite a lot of small teams, so the work you do tends to have a much larger impact on the overall product - than is typical in a product company. It’s an open office, so no cubicles. We don’t have a dress code or set in/out times. Snacks, tea, and coffee is available round the clock. There’s a free breakfast, lunch, and dinner policy.
There’s a great gym, play area, cricket ground, a borrowed basketball court, and more.
There is also a creche and many schools nearby. There’s a free night cab facility.
They take care of you at Zoho. Nearly every reasonable need of a employee is always addressed.
6) At present , what is the scenario of engineers and programmers in Start-up companies ?
When you come into a startup, almost everything is fluid. You are also likely to get some input on the way future engineers are hired and the way your technology team interacts with the business team. These extra-engineering responsibilities can be tough for some to handle, but if they sound like something you’d enjoy, you’ll likely fit right in at a startup.
STILL MORE PEP TALKS ARE EXPECTED TO FILL OUR THOUGHTS.

Gandhi jayanti
It is a national festival celebrated all over India to make the occasion of the birthday of Mohandas karamchand Gandhi , who is unofficially called the " father of the nation ". It is celebrated on 2nd October as he was born on 2nd October 1869 in porbander . His contribution towards freedom struggle of india and women liberation were immense. Mahatma Gandhi was also known for his unique technique of "satyagraha". Gandhi also made useful contribution in the fight against superstitions like untouchability and other notions . He gives equal respect to all religion and inspired a lot of men , women, and even children. He opposed the superstitious practice like "sati, "childmarriage" , devadhasi system etc . Honouring his wonderful contribution the nation uses this opportunity to pay their respect to the great leader. On this day, the president, prime minister, and other eminent political leaders visit the Raj Ghat to pay their homage to the leader . The United Nations General Assembly announced on 15th June 2007 that it adopted a resolution which declared that 2nd October will be celebrated as the "International Day of Non_violence ".
