GENERAL ARTICLE - Portable magic :
Have you ever pondered the power of a book? The power of a book is astonishing in its simplicity. Pages upon pages filled with words. Good words, good pages, good books are priceless. A really good book transports us from our surroundings, it blocks out all noise, and suspends reality; it absorbs us in the story and takes us on a journey with the characters, where we see and feel everything they do. Sometimes We marvel at the author who created them, especially the ones who seem to have a secret formula to doing it over and over again.
It is said that a reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one. Books as a friend allows us to experience another person’s emotions and gives peace of mind unconditionally.
It’s no secret that reading books is a good habit. Numerous studies have shown that reading keeps our brain functioning effectively . But for some, reading is just a pleasure. For them reasons are quite simple: to have more fun, to make our imagination fly, to find new ways to express our ideas, and finally to expand our vocabulary.
In the past years the use of the television and the internet has increased; this situation has caused many people to change their likes and the way they enjoy their free time. Because of the television and the internet, many people spend less time on reading.
But believe it, reading puts us altogether in a different world as if dancing in a sunlit green field with gentle breeze around. So to sum up, books are a uniquely portable magic! Our room without books is like a body without a soul.
