EMOJI

Love them or hate them , emojis are everywhere, spreading through our texts, social media posts, and emails. They're in our inboxes , on the big screen , and even being used as evidence  in courtrooms.

Don't let the cuteness of the pixel-sized peaches , smiley faces , and clapping hands  fool you, emojis are rapidly changing the nature of how we communicate, in some profound ways: They're breaking down language barriers, accelerating human interaction and being tested in legal arenas, which is posing some unprecedented challenges for lawmakers.

An emoji is a visual representation of an emotion, object or symbol. Emoji can are in modern communication apps such as your smartphone’s text messaging or social networking apps such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat. To access your library of emoticons in any app, tap the smiley face icon on the keyboard.

The original set of emoji were designed in 1999 by Shigetaka Kurita for the Japanese phone carrier NTT DoCoMo on their i-mode platform, the world’s first internet enabled mobile service.

Kurita-san intended to create a set of “characters that could cover the entire breadth of human emotion.” He designed 176 12×12 pixel emoji covering a range of people, places, and things.

By 2014, the Great Emoji Politicization had begun. It happened with emoji representing food, flags ,families, and more. It wasn’t just a matter of having the right icon to describe what you ate for lunch—it was having a digital acknowledgement of your culture. Emoji had emerged as an important language of the digital age.

In 2015, Unicode took its first big step toward diversifying emoji by introducing the option to change the skin tone on people emoji, along with additions to include more types of people doing more types of things. Since then, every update has included incremental steps toward diversifying the types of people and cultures represented on the emoji keyboard: female surfers and cyclists, women with hard hats and stethoscopes, people wearing turbans and hijabs. Most recently, Unicode has taken steps toward creating gender-neutral emoji, emoji that represent people with disabilities, and other symbols to represent the full spectrum of emoji users.

Now emojis have become an indispensible part of our texts. Emojis add flavour to our messages communicating better than words.

KEEZHADI EXCAVATION

Keezhadi excavation just provides an another proof to the world that tamil culture was existed in 2nd century itself.  An archaeological survey was  started in Keezhadi village of sivaganga district in Tamilnadu where archaeologists have made some major discoveries which may rewrite the Indian history.

In keezhadi excavation archaeologists unearthed many artecrafts which provides  a link between Indus valley civilisation and tamil brahmi (language). The artecrafts found there was dated as back as 580 BCE. Indus valley civilisation was an ancient civilisation and date back approximately to 5500 BCE. It is believed that among the available scripts of India, Indus scripts are believed to be the earliest one. The Indus scripts are the precursors of graffiti marks, a language which is believed by the scholars  to be existed between indus script and brahmi language. As these marks are found in excavation  it cannot be set aside as mere scratches.

In Keezhadi they are currently in the phase 5 excavation and the above results were from the fourth phase   report produced by TNAD ( TamilNadu Archaeological Department ) . The report was named as “ keeladi – an urban settlement of sangamam age on the banks of river vaigai”.

The first three excavations were undertaken by archaeological survey of india whereas 4th and 5th excavations are under TNAD.

DO YOU  KNOW???

1. According to psychologists, “We feel safer while watching horror movies on your bed rather than a sofa”.

2. You’ll communicate with dead relatives via virtual reality : The future! It’s either going to be really, really amazing, Ray Kurzweil, a futurist and director of engineering at Google, doesn’t like the idea of people he loves dying any more than you do. We can’t stop them from dying, but we can preserve their memories a little better than just fading photographs. He thinks we’re heading towards an age when we’ll be able to create virtual reality avatars of our deceased loved ones, realistic enough that we can interact with them. “This will be a way to bring him back,” he says, referring to his father. “Even if it isn’t fully realistic to bring these people back in A.I., it’ll be close.”

3. Dr. Yoshiro Nakamatsu, who patented more than 3,300 inventions in his 73-year-old life, got his creativity from sinking himself underwater for hours at a time.  Point? “To starve the brain of oxygen. Zero-point-five seconds before death, I visualize an invention.”

4. Einstein’s secretary once got an anonymous call asking where Einstein lived. The secretary declined to respond. Whereupon the caller admitted he was Einstein himself. He had forgotten his address.

7..Marie did much of her research with her husband, Pierre. When their work was submitted to the to the Nobel Prize committee, Marie’s name was never mentioned due to prevailing sexism at the time.
