ECE SYMPOSIUM
In this month of technical fests, Electronics and Communication Department has conducted the National level technical intra symposium on 28th of February. This symposium is special for the department of ECE since this was their 25th national level technical symposium and also Golden jubilee for their department. Er.A.Pandian, Divisional Engineer, BSNL, Karaikudi, was the Chief Guest. Our Vice Principal Dr.R.Malayalamurthi M.E.,Ph.D presided over the function. All teaching, non-teaching staffs and students of ECE department attended the function. Students actively participated in Project, and Paper presentation. And also various general, fun and technical events were conducted for them.
THIRAN PRIZE DISTRIBUTION
"Talent wins the game but teamwork and intelligence wins championship"
The most prestigious day for future engineers in our ACGCET is the thiran demo day and thiran prize distribution. Thiran prize distribution 2k20 was organised on 02.03.2020 in Sangamam hall at 4.30 p.m. The occasion was graced by our principal Dr.R.Shanmugalakshmi, Mr.A.Muthunagalingam, president of ACCETOSA, our alumni Mr.Senthilananda Prakash, our retired professor Mr.Ravikumar, Mr.Elamurugan, Mr.Rathinavel and prof. Senthil kumar from Mechanical department. Three prizes were awarded for each department and extra prizes such as most innovative project, Regina Pappa award were also awarded to the students. The event ended up with the vote of thanks.
EEE CONFERENCE
On behalf of EEE department 13 th national conference was held on power electronics and drives. Nearly 50 students from the other college had participated in the conference and participated in paper presentation. The ocassion was graced by chief guest DR.P.S M anoharan, thiyagaraya college of engineering, Madurai.
The presidential adress was delivered by our principal DR . R.SHANMUGALAKSHMI, EEE department HOD DR.K.Baskaran felicitate the gathering.
SPORTS TIME
" A good sport enriches positive mind "
Sports has been the best side of ACGCET so far. A battle of thrones will be encountered in all even semester of our acgcet college days. Sports champ with the true spirit of sportsmanship play excellently and create many new records and unforgettable memories. The inter year sports meet was started on 21.02.2020.

Women's day
The international women's day was celebrated on every year of march 8. The day is considered as an ocassion to review the struggles and the path that they have overcome in their life.
Background of the Day
Though the International Women’s Day has been observed since 1975 in an organized way, there is a long history to observe the day. It was said in the history that the International Women's Day has been observed since in the early 1900's, a time of great expansion and turbulence in the industrialized world, that saw booming population growth and the rise of radical ideologies.
The objectives of the International Women's Day
1)to celebrate the struggle for women's rights in the economic, social, political, and cultural domain
2) to reaffirm women's solidarity in the struggle for peace.
3) and to show what women have achieved.
SIGNIFICANCE OF WOMEN DAY:
Women’s Day holds a great significance and it’s becoming a custom today year after year. It is the celebration of respect, appreciation, love and care towards women in your life and in the society. It is glad that Women’s Day is celebrated in schools and colleges nowadays so that respect and care for women are instilled into the minds of the young generation, right from their childhood days.
On this International women’s day, let’s recognize the importance of women in our lives and to the society and motivate them for greater future achievements.

8 March - International Women's Day
This day is observed globally every year on 8 March to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Also, it is an action for accelerating gender parity. Purple is the colour which symbolise women internationally. The combination of the purple, green and white colour is to symbolise the equality of women's which is originated from the Women's Social and Political Union in the UK in 1908.
8 March - Ramakrishna Jayanti
On this day the birth anniversary of Saint Ramakrishna is celebrated. According to him, "the sole point of human birth is to acknowledge God".
10 March - CISF Raising Day
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Raising Day is observed every year on 10 March. The CISF was set up in 1969 under an act of the Parliament of India. It works under the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and it’s headquarter is in New Delhi. This organisation works for seaways, airways and some of the major installations in India. There are some reserved battalions in the CISF which work with the state police to protect law and orders.
11 March - No Smoking Day (Second Wednesday of March)
No Smoking Day is observed every year on the second Wednesday of March to raise awareness about the harmful health effects of tobacco via smoking and to encourage people all over the world to quit smoking.
12 March - Mauritius Day
Mauritius Day is celebrated annually on 12 March to mark two key events that took place in the history of the country that is independence from Britain in 1968 and it became a republic in 1992.
