ANSWER FOR LAST WEEK QUESTIONS
1)Answer: Option(B) 85 kg
Solution:
Total weight increased = (8×2.5) kg = 20
kg
So, weight of new man = (65+20) kg = 85
kg.
2)Answer: Option(D) 23 years
Solution:
Let the average age of the whole team be X
years.
11X-(26+29) = 9(X-1)
11X-55 = 9X-9
11X-9X = 55-9
2X = 46
X = 23 years.
3)Answer: Option(D) 950 m²
Solution:
Let the area of the ground = X meter
The area covered by the roller in 1
revolution = 2πrl
= 2×(22/7)×1×(7/22) = 2 m²
Area covered in 500 revolutions = 500×2 =
1000 m²
Given: On 5% of the ground, the roller
rolled twice.
So, X = 1000-(X/20)
X+(X/20) = 1000
(21X/20) = 1000
21X = 20000
X = 20000/21 = 950 m²
4)Answer: Option(C) 4 m
Solution:
Let the height be 2X m and (length +
breadth) = 5X m
Length of paper = (260/2) = 130 m
Area of paper = 130×(50/100) m² = 65 m²
Area of four walls = 65+15 = 80 m2
Also, the area of the four walls of a room
= 2 (length + breadth)*height
So, 2(length + breadth)*height = 80
2×5X×2X = 80
X² = 4
Therefore, X = 2
So, height of the room = 2X = 2*2 = 4 m
5)Answer: Option(C) 8
Solution:
A:B = 80:75 and A:C = 80:65
So, B/C = {(B/A)×(A/C)} =
{(75:80)/(80:65)}
= 60/52 = 60:52
So, In a game of 60, B can give 8 points to C.
