VISIT:
EEE
3rd YEAR
Our
college 3rd year EEE students went for an Industrial Visit to Ooty
from 3rd March to 5th March. They visited the Radio
Astronomy Centre which is a part of National Centre for Radio Astrophysics
(NCRA). They all observed the complete research place and gained the knowledge
regarding Radio Astronomy. They visited botanical garden too. Ramamoorthy Sir,
Pradeep Sir, Dhivya Ma’am and Priyanka Ma’am accompanied them and took utmost
care.
CSE
2nd YEAR
The
2nd year students from department of computer science and
engineering of our college have gone for an industrial visit to Ooty on 10.3.23
and 11.3.23. They have gone to Radio Astronomy Centre in Ooty where they
attended a session on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. After the
visit to the company, they have also visited some of the famous places in Ooty
like botanical garden, pine forest etc… The students felt it was a very nice
and informative experience.
EEE
2nd YEAR
The
second-year students of EEE department have visited Coimbatore and Ooty for
their industrial visit on the 17th and 18th of March. The
students have visited RAC , the Radio Astronomy Centre , where they had learnt
about the company through a very informative video and had observed the radio
telescope of the center. The students were grateful to their HOD Dr. K.
Bhaskaran sir for arranging such an informative visit. All the credits of this
successful visit goes to Dr. C. Venilla ma’am, Ms. M. Sharanya ma’am, Mr. S.
Mohammed Jaidu Mansoor sir, Mr. G. Abinesh, Ms. C. Aberna ma’am for guiding
them throughout the trip.
WOMEN’S DAY
Our
college celebrated women's day on 8th March 2023 at Murugappa Hall.
To honor, admire and respect all the women out there. The college has chosen
this particular day to celebrate. The event majorly consisted of aspiring women
who gave inspiring speeches on embracing and cherishing women's hood. The event
was organized by The Women Empowerment cell of our college. The chief guests Dr
Manimozhi Aruldas and Dr SV Belvin Candida who are medical professionals shared
the major medical issues faced by women and gave a glimpse of their wonderful
experience as medics. We will be forever grateful for the presence of our
principal Dr PK Palani at the event and for the liberation and equality of
women in our college.
A
LECTURE FOR MECHANICAL DEPARTMENT
An
offline special lecture was organised for our college 2nd and 3rd
year Mechanical Engineering students by our alumni Dr.M.RAMJI, Professor and
Head, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, IIT- Hyderabad. The
lecture focused on the topic “RECENT TRENDS IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING”. It was
scheduled on 10th March from 11:30am to 1:30pm in the Murugappa
Hall. Students took active participation and got benefitted.
XPREZ CARNIVAL
The
Carnival was held by the Xprez team of our college on March 10, 2023. Events like
blog in, pen maniac, turncoat, contradict, spin wheel and many such fun and
interesting events which can improve our language were conducted. The students
showcased their talents and won exciting prizes.
TRAINING
PROGRAMME FOR ECE 3rd YEARS
The
department of Electronics and Communication
Engineering organized a 5 days Industry Assisted Hands On- Training Program in
“RP2040 Dual Core Embedded Controller” from 6th March to 10th
March for our 3rd year ECE students. The sessions started with an
inauguration event on the first day, in which Dr. R. Vijayarajeshwaran,
Managing Director, Vi Microsystems Pvt. Ltd., Chennai was the Chief Guest and
our Principal Dr. P. K. Palani sir presided the inaugural function. This was a
great step taken by Head of ECE department Dr. A. Sivanantha Raja Sir, and was
well coordinated by Dr. C. Karthika Pragadeeswari ma’am. The students were
grateful to their Faculty Advisor Mrs. M. Aruna Rani ma’am who was guiding them
throughout the session.

demo day 2023
THIRAN
a project platform supported by our Alumni has conducted the demo day for the
first years and the civil department on March 11,2023. The inauguration was
held at Sangamam hall. Various project ideas and models were presented to the
Alumni by our students. The project expo was held at Murugappa hall for civil
department, Sangamam hall and Gallery hall for first years From our ACCET NEWS,
we wish luck for every participants of THIRAN 2023.
TECHNOPHILIA-
2K23
On March 15th, Electronics and Communication Engineering department of
St. Michael College of Engineering and Technology organized a national level
technical symposium “TECHNOPHILIA”. Many technical and non-technical events
were organized. Our ECE department students made an enthusiastic step towards
the participation and bagged several prizes in each event. P Abhimanyu and P
Malaiarasan from 2nd year secured 2nd prize in paper
presentation and 1st prize in poster presentation. R Gokul from 3rd
year secured 2nd prize in poster presentation. S Aswin & J
Anuraj Kishore from 3rd years got 1st prize in technical
quiz. In the non-technical event (Connextion), our college grabbed the 1st
prize. As a result of these achievements, we obtained the overall championship
shield by challenging many colleges. The college Principal, Dean and HOD of ECE
department cordially honored our college with their gestures. Congratulations
to all the winners and appreciations to all the participants.
TOP
CODERS'23
On
the 18th of March, the Sudharsan Engineering College, Pudukkottai, conducted a national level contest named as
TOP CODERS’23 for all Engineering students. It involved assessment of 20
questions, in which, 10 questions can be solved in any programming language and
other 10 questions were based on DBMS. Our college students from ECE and EEE
participated in the contest and got the exposure of coding contest.

DEMONSTRATION
AND DISSEMINATION
National
Program of Demonstration and Dissemination for the selected technologies of
Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) Institutions. MAHOTSAV & EXPO “UNNATI 2023” Unnat
Bharat Abhiyan Networking for National Aatmanirbhar Technological Intervention
Organized by National Coordinating Institute (NCI), IIT DELHI. Our college students’
projects were selected for state level and now to the national level to UBA conference and they put
a stall at IIT DELHI for March 17th and Mar 18th. Their
Projects were guided by our respected Assistant Professor Prof P. Perumal (Department
of Mechanical Engineering)
