step.
The
LEO club of our college conducted their coordinator selection for the second-year students. It was held on Oct 4th,2023 in mechanical classrooms
and various students from all the departments attended the selection. It was
great to have such an active participation among the students. The list of
selected students was officially released on Oct 6th,2023.
Congratulations to all the selected students!!!
The
selection of Computer Science Association coordinators for the third year took
place on September 22, 2023, and for the second year on October 5,
2023. Students from each year were eager to participate. The association’s
eligible candidates will be chosen by the final years.
FRESHER’S EVENT
On
Tuesday (03/10/2023) the Fresher’s Association of ACGCET conducted ‘A-Z’, a
fun-filled outdoor event for Freshers of this year. Nearly 200 students
participated in the event, obviously a good count. The main objective of the
event is to encourage the freshers to explore the college campus. Students were
divided into groups and tasked with finding items on campus whose names began
with each of the 26 alphabets. The event proceeded smoothly and was
well-received.
The
final-year students of our college have attended various placement drives in recent times. One among them is the Data Aces drive which was conducted online
on September 30,2023 in EEE classrooms. Various students have
actively participated in the drive and are eagerly awaiting the results.

On 5th October, the Rotaract Club of ACGCET
organized an event for the first-year students of our college. It was called ‘Jumanji’ and happened in the gallery hall from 4:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. This was
similar to a treasure hunt and had small games in between to engage them with the
event. Many students from all departments participated enthusiastically and
enjoyed thoroughly.
On the 6th of this month, celebrating the Kalaignar Centenary ceremony, a speech competition was conducted at St. Michael Engineering College,
Kalaiyarkoil, Sivaganga, with Mr. K. R. Karuppan sir as the chief guest. Many
students from different colleges took part in it. And delightfully, our
students won three prizes. Jegatheeshwaran A from EEE 4th yr won the
first prize, while Arunkumar A from EEE 4th yr and Bharathi S from EEE 2nd yr won the second
and third prizes respectively. The first two prize winners are shortlisted for
participating in state-level speech competitions. Congratulations to all the winners and the
participants.
Instead of delivering data to a central server, edge computing processes it at the network’s edge. This makes it ideal for applications like self-driving cars and smart cities because it can result in quicker processing times and less network congestion.
Edge computing is well-suited for
self-driving cars because it allows for real-time processing of the vast
amounts of data generated by the car’s sensors and cameras. It can process this
data locally, at the “edge” of the network, allowing the car to make faster and
more accurate decisions, improving safety and reliability. Additionally, edge
computing can enable self-driving cars to function even in areas with poor
connectivity because they can operate independently of the cloud.
